The playful encounter of the two figures, together with the irregularities of the hand-torn stencil, makes this idea tangible.

The series combines anthropomorphic animals, celestial bodies and edible plants with idioms, questions and everyday wisdom. The drawings are made intuitively and paired with playful word combinations creating a visual language that is both naive and enigmatic. Printed by hand using stencil screen printing, the works invite viewers to discover meaning, humor and unexpected connections for themselves. The pairing of words and images as well as the hand-printed stencilcut screenprints on paper invite the viewer to look closer — becoming, in a way, the taste of the pudding.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1114/8260/files/260723_CharlotteHornung_WeHaveChaosToDo_2__Yes.jpg?v=1791984324
objects-from-daily-life
Objects from daily life

Edition of 15

24 × 16 × 2 cm

3D-printed relief photographs with spray paint, with 3D-printed frame

Signed and numbered by the artist

The edition comes with one 3D-printed frame and three prints that fit it. With its gaze up to the sky and a brush and palette in its hands, the wrapper initially encouraged her to paint. After enlarging the image and screen-printing it onto aluminum foil, it became a benchmark against which she could test her new paintings, placing them alongside the wrapper’s bold and poppy appearance.
More recently, the rabbit became a gateway into ceramics when Mirthe also enlarged the chocolate itself using a slip-casting technique. This eventually led her to Arita, Japan, where she studies centuries-old porcelain techniques. There, for once and for all, she returned the rabbit to its original size, firing it onto porcelain.
