Pien Kars works with moving images, both in 2D and 3D, and focuses primarily on stop-motion animation. Her work often explores themes of sexuality, femininity, and the human body. Tangibility plays an essential role in her artistic process, visible in her animation work and other techniques such as painting, tufting, and papier-mâché sculpture. Her animations and still images are recognizable by their vibrant colors, which evoke playfulness and humor.
