Romina Koopman’s phone holds thousands of images, photos she doesn’t remember taking, many of them of everyday objects. For Objects of Daily Life, she selects three of these overlooked snapshots and gives them form, literally. Each image is digitally modelled, printed in 3D and finished by hand with spray paint: an object of an object.
The works leave the screen and move into the tangible world, the images change as you move around them, so you have to take your time to see them. Can a picture that has been living for years in the dark of her pocket ask for attention again in real life?
